There are people who view the Capitol as serving only their preferred version of America, one that excludes Americans they ultimately believe don't have the fundamental right to exist, to participate in a Democratic nation, to express themselves and protest, and to control their own lives, bodies and destinies.
Their Capitol is only for those they select, who look like them and agree with them, who worship the same God in the same way, and who want to impose their religion on everyone while denying science and climate change that interferes with profits. To them, racism and sexism are more than justifiable.
It is an exclusionary place where history and events are denied or rewritten, and laws are created to subjugate disapproved individuals and groups, or even merely just to enshrine power and to control to the point of elimination any citizen who objects.
Their purpose for the media is to manipulate, spew propaganda and conspiracy theories, and maintain a constant state of alarm and threats to convince citizens that they are fighting a war against fellow citizens that can only be resolved, once insults are considered ineffective, by bullets and guns.
The police and the courts are solely tools of enforcement. Anyone who is not subservient must be prosecuted and imprisoned.
The Capitol is a structure that can be duplicated and distorted to become a place for them and their friends: Oligarchy, Plutocracy, Authoritarianism and Fascism.
